Why all the excitement and talk about Kenotek Contactless Cleaning ?

Simply, Kenotek Cargo 4,100 contactless snow foam is changing how people wash vehicles in both Ireland and the UK.  This product has become very firmly established in the European market and has just entered the Irish and UK market place now.  We encourage you to allow youself to be amazed at the performance of the product and its many various applications whilst being safe to use on your vehicle.

Until now, to wash a vehicle, you had to use a brush or sponge.  This is now longer the reality due to the chemistry used in this product, yet still being gentle and compaitble with all types of paintwork on any and all types of vehicles.  This product has undergone multiple rigorous tests at VDA and has been granted their approval.  Major haulage companies across Europe as well as many Truck and Car Wash manufacturers now recommend Kenotek products as their first choice of product brand.  e.g Istobal Truck and car wash maufacturer ( based in Portugal) partner with Kentoek in many Eurotpean countries, recommending Kenotek as the preferred choice of chemical in their automatic washing systems.

We have found that most people go through the same 3 step process when they initially hear about Kenotek and Contactless cleaning.

1.  "I don't believe that"  or "Thats not possible.....I've been washing vehicles all my life and I have never seen that done"  or "it must be very harmful to paintwork" ..... or "I've been using X brand for this past 20 years and I have always used a brush and sponge and refuse to believe that it is possible to wash a vehicle without touching it"     Move to stage 2

2.  People then see a few videos at the recommendation of their friends ( who have discovered Kenotek )......... and they wonder " is that possible ?.......  Ahhh...... probably not !!!.... probably camera tricks etc....... but I wonder.....is it possible ?? "

3.  Then they move to stage 3 where they either buy a 5 Ltr drum or 20 Ltr drum to try the product.......... and then the conversion happens........  Its almost Miraclous to see the transformation in a person as they use Kenotek Cargo 4,100.  They, in an instant change totally, their mind, their perspective, their approach to vehicle care, to their attitude towards contactless cleaning...................   They then become an instant "Recommender of Kenotek".  This person who has "caught it" or discovered just how brilliant this product really is, then has the task of convincing the next person they talk to about it.  Genuienly, seeing is really believing.

What is Contactless cleaning ?

Basically, this is cleaning a vehicle without needing to brush, sponge or rub.  The Chemical does all the hard work for you.  You need to ensure that you use the power of the water in your Power Hose to dislodge the road film.  The chemial reduces the grip of the dirt from the paintwork, it doesn't dissolve the dirt.  The dirt and road film looses its "attraction" to the surface and is much easier to remove with your Powerhose.   You can still rub if you want to, however in most cases you will not need to.  We do however recommed in the worst weather months you can brush or sponge about every fourth wash ( ie. once per month if washing once per week )  This help the chemical do its job.  The whole key is not to touch the vehicle or rub with your fingers immediately after you wash, as you will leave finger marks,  Allow the vehicle to dry and you will have a streak free, gleaming shine.  If this is not the case, you are getting some part of the process wrong,  Please see the article about "the sinners circle" to find out what part of the jigsaw you are missing.  We want you to get the absolutely best results with our products, so get in touch to see if we can help. Multiple customers across Europe have become raving fans of this partcular product and we want you to join these ranks, so please allow us to help you.

Happy customers are both loyal customers and they then recommend us and our products to others.

How do I use Kenotek Cargo 4,100 ?

You are always encouraged to dilute Cargo 4,100 with 4 parts water before you apply via a foaming bottle or via your power washer injector lance etc.  This is a highly concentrated product and should never be used neat on a vehicle.  If you are using a standard spray bottle, or back sprayer to apply, you should dilute at a rate of 1% product to 99% water.  If you are removing heavy brake dust, you should dilute at a rate of 10% and apply via a standard spray bottle, before powerhosing off.

We recommend that you do not allow the foam to dry on your vehcile ( which is much the same for most other chemicals for washing vehicles).  We encourage you to store the product away from the direct sunlight and from the frost in winter.

We recommend that you leave the product on the vehicle for 2 - 3 minutes and then powerhose off with either a hot or cold powerwasher.  Use the water lance as your broom, working upwards from the bottom to the top in sideways motion, ensuring that you hose every part of the vehicle.  Some people have told us that they visualise a wooden timber fence in their mind, with horizontal laths.  In their mind, they sepearte the vehicle into different sections of the fence fand they are spray painting a fence, from the bottom upwards which ensures that every square inch of the vehicle is washed.  When you have all washed, then rinse the vehicle down. from top to bottom.  Allow the vehicle to dry, without touching it, and you should have an immaculately clean machine.

On your foam gun, you will either have 5 diferent settings or a scrw nozzle which either increases or decreases the dilution rate coming from you foam bottle.  Standard washing of a vehicle is usually done at nick number 1 ( which is 2% on a Suttner ST73 foamer ).  If you have a vehicle very badly soiled, dirty with dirt ground in for approx 3 - 6 months, simply turn up your settings to the mid point.  This increases the diution rate to approx 5% product and 95%water coming through your foam lance.  This becomes much more active and increases the power of the product.

If you want to use as an oil remover or as a degreaser, then turn your foamer up to setting number 5 or open the valve out to the maximum.  This increases the % to approx 10% product and 90% water.  This should remove most oils and greases ( within reason ).

If you need a stronger product to remove grease, you could purchase our Kenotek Power degreaser, which requires a hot wash power washer.  Kenotek Cargo 4,100 will work very effectively with either cold or hot wash.

Why are other people not using the Kenotek range of products yet ?

Simple answer to this one.  They very probably have not tried our products or discovered them yet.  It's that simple.  When people discover this vehicle care range and use them, they actually get excited and then start to show off the products and their results to their friends, collagues etc.  It's truly facinating to watch and listen to the reactions of people who try and then  use the Kentoek range for the first time.  Once a customer ALWAYS a customer.

How much does the Kenotek Cargo 4,100 cost ? Why is it the least expensive detergent in Europe ?

As this is a concentrated product, we recommend that you dilute at a rate of 1 part product with 4 parts water.  We have a recommended retail price of £80.50 + Vat Stg or €93.50 + Vat Euro for a 23 Kg ( 20 Ltr ).  This 20 Ltr mixed with 80 Lts of water, dilutes into 100 Ltrs of product, ready for spraying onto your vehicle.  This equates to £1610 + Vat / €18.70 + Vat for a 20 Ltr drum of ready to use contactless snow foam.  You end up with 5 x 20 Ltrs drums of product for £80.50 or €93.50

If you currently purchase a 200 Ltr barrel of your usual detergent, with this product, you will purchase 2 x 20 ltr drums of concentrate product and mix into an barrell of 160 Lts of water ( 160 Lts water + 40 Lts Concentrate Kenotek Cargo 4,100)

To make an IBC Cube of Product, you only need to buy 200 Lts of product and mix into 800 Lts of water to have your 1,000 Ltrs of product which should wash approx 1,000 40 Ft Lorrys ( including trailer )

Is there any Acid in Kenotek Cargo 4,100 Contactless snow foam ?

No.  Kenotek Cargo 4,100 is a highly Alkaline product.    On the pH scale range, 7 is PH neutral.  Any product that is below 7 is acidic, and the lower the number, the higer the acidic rate. ( i.e  2 is much more acidic than 5.  Ph 7 is called "neutral".

Kenotek Cargo 4,100 is PH 12.  The highest PH you can get is PH 14.  This product is the opposite from Acidic on the scale and is designed for paintwork.   The VDA ( German Automobile Association ) have awarded their stamp of approval for use as a vehicle wash, after extensive testing.   A product that has VDA approval, means that vehicle manufacturers accept that the product has been produced to Industry standard and specifications, meaning that the vehicle manufacturer accepts the product as warranty standard.

Is Kenotek Cargo 4,100 Contactless foam Environmentally friendly ?

Yes.  This product is Environmentally friendly and is suitable for run off into drains when diluted as per recommended dilution rates which meets and exceeds the requirements of your local council authority in both Ireland and the UK.    Full MSDS and safety data sheets are available on request. Government bodies across Europe already use this product, as do many Military installations across Europe. This product is also suitable for non direct food contact use.

In Ireland Monaghan County Council have been successfully using Cargo 4,100 since May 2021.

Why wash from the bottom to the top ?

When washing a vehicle using conventional methods you firstly apply soap / foam, wash using a sponge or a brush and then rinse off with water from the top to the bottom.
Contactless washing is a bit different.
Soap / foam is applied through a high pressure foamer and then high pressure water is used as a “sponge or a brush”. The water is worked back into fresh soap, either from the bottom to the top or backwards in the case of trucks and trailers etc. In this way, the soap is used more efficiently. (If you wash from the top down, you would simply wash the soap off the vehicle which defeats the purpose).
Then rinse from the top down to finish the cleaning process.

Is there any caustic in Kenotek Cargo 4100 Contactless snow foam ?

Lets address the "elephant in the room", on this question.  Caustic has earned a bad name in the industry due to people, historically mixing detergents and not really knowing their chemistry nor their physics.  Thsi product is manufactured by CID Lines who are owned by ECO labs who have access to the best Chemistry and Physics minds and resources in the industry.

There is a very low concentration % of caustic in this product in its original concentrated form.  When you dilute the concentrate 1 part product and 4 parts water, you have divided the % by 4.  You then apply the already diluted product with your snow foam lance or snow foam bottle at a rate of 2% ( diluted ) product with 98 % of water.  When you take the 0.5 % caustic in the diluted bottle and divide that by 50, you arrive at 0.01 % or 1/100 of 1% of caustic on the vehicle which is clinically insignificant.  This product will not do any harm to your paint finish, nor will it fade your paintwork ( assuming you follow the manufacturers recommended guidelines ).

How or why are we so confident to make these claims ?   Firstly, Kenotek Cargo 4100 has been on the European and Global market for over 4 years, is our largest selling product line, which is growing at + 50% per anum and we have had no adverse reactions nor colour fading problems or instances in that 4 years.  Secondly and more importantly, this product had now joined the line up of our other products that have received VDA Approval.  The testing process by the VDA is rigorous, robust and and product that makes it through this challenging process is accepted as warranty standard by vehicle manufacters globally.

Is Kenotek Cargo 4100 Contactless foam compatible with Ceramic Coatings

Yes. Cargo 4100 is compatible with vehicles that have been treated with Ceramic Coatings.  Kenotek are a maunfacturer of a range of Ceramic Coatings that are very highly respected within the Valeting industry Globally.  We have designed a product called "Ceramic Boost" which adds to your protective coating which lasts for an additional 6 months.  We have also designed another product, called Ceramic Wash, which contains polymers and Sio2, which guarantee a protection of 4 weeks, resulting in a long-lasting shine and protection after every wash.

Like all chemicals, as long as the dilution rates and instructions are followed as per manufacturers recommendation, Cargo 4100 is compatible with Ceramic Coatings.  This is one of the main reasons that our products are a preferred choice at many of the larger Car Washing facilities across Europe.  Vehicle care is our business.

Exactly how clean is "Contactless Clean" ? Will I still have to sponge or brush ?

An Excellent Question that we are regularly asked.  When you wash your vehicle as per recommended process ( dilute 4:1, foam on with a foamer or injector lance and leave for 3 -- 4 minutes and then wash off, using your water lance as a brush and then rinse off )  your vehicle is now 98 % clean.  There is still a micro film of road film still on the vehicle that is invisible to the naked eye.  However, if when the vehicle is still wet, if you then rub your fingers across the door or panel of the motor, just ot check excactly how clean it is,  you then remove the last 2% and you will then have finger marks left when the vehicle dries.  The whole concept is "Contactless Cleaning" which means that you don't make contact with the motor.  Keep your hands off until it dries.  Where does the 2 % go to ?   It dries back into the pores of the paint work.  Paintwork is a bit like your skin.  It has Pores,  The 2% is  still there, yet your naked eye can't see it.  The water evaporates off in the drying process and the 2 % goes into the pores.  When the vehicle is dry, then go and rub your dry finger across the motor and you will have nothing on your finger, nor any finger marks of the paintwork.

So please don't be "pernickety" just after you have washed the vehicle.  Wait until it dries and then check to see how visually clean it is.  You will have a clean motor with a great shine that you'll be delighted with and no finger marks.  Remember your reason for washing the motor.  Your want it visually clean.  So please do not rub a big "S" down the side of the vehicle before you start, to "test how good it is" as you will still have that impregnated into the pores of the paintwork.  Let the process do its job, keep your hands off the motor until it dries and then go looking to see how clean it is.  Again, if you wet your finger to see how clean the dry motor is, you will dig the 2% back out of the pores of the paintwork and then you will have finger marks.

If your either the pernickety type, or if going to a Truckshow, Tractor run or displaying a vehicle under lights in a show room, or going to spray paint or polish or prep for ceramic coating etc, then you can foam on a second time, ( the vehicle will already be 98% clean ) and you can then sponge or brush to remove the 2% that's left and then rinse off.  This also applies if you own a commercial car wash that is using standard water power hoses and your charging customers for the wash process.  You may want to sponge some or all of their vehicle when you have foamed it the second time.  Some Car washes start off using Kenotek Cargo 4100 as a prewash because its so effective, but they then ultimately use is as their only detergent as they find it is such a versatile "catch all" product.

Some Fleet owners decide to bursh or sponge the fleet every 10th or 20th wash to remove the build up of 2% which will build up over time.   However, the rest of us mere mortals, who want a vehicle visually clean are more than happy to wash contactlessly all the time.

The whole key is.  NO rubbing the paint work with your fingers after you have washed contactlessly.  This product simply takes the hard work, effort, hassle, energy and misery out of the washing process.  Or, maybe, like Mrs Doyle in Fr Ted, your a,  "maybe I LIKE the MISERY"........type of person.                            It's really your call.  If you want still want to sponge and brush and take twice the time to wash a motor, please feel free to work away.  However, after you have tried to use the contactless route, you will reach for the brush or sponge less and less.

Happy effortless washing and keep your hands off until the motor dries.   Kenotek UK & Ireland Team.

Please see below the "Sinners Circle" which may help explaing this a little more.

The Sinners Circle,  for optimal results
Chemicals, mechanical power, time and temperature represent the four principle factors that determine the success of a wash. These four factors, also known as the 'Sinner circle', are represented in the shape a circle.

The 4 factors influence each other and can change in size. When using machines for instance, the mechanical factor will be larger and the other three smaller.

The results depend on these factors, also when cleaning vehicles:

1.  Chemicals: This refers to the concentration of cleaning agent used. All chemical elements such as active substances on the surface and pH values have an influence. The pH value says more about the concentration of the acidic, neutral or alkaline properties in a water solution. The pH value varies between 0.0 and 14.00, where 0.0 is the strongest acidic level represented, and 14.0 is the strongest alkaline value. Moreover, the pH value can only be measured in a water solution.

2.  Time: The time that a chemical (the cleaning agent) takes to work into the dirt.

3.  Temperature: The temperature level influences the cleaning process (e.g. hot or cold water).

4.  Mechanical power, in the form of a water jet from a high pressure cleaners and/or brushes.
